yourgraceisenoughforme asked: is there someone at YWAM who you say "shut-up sally" to without the sally?
No, but there is a girl named Rose who I tell to “Get out of the garbage”… same concept.
Anonymous asked: Do you prefer your old or new legs?
My old legs were better for just about everything practical.
My new legs are a testament to God’s goodness, and they paid my way through college.
alexgbutuza asked: Not a question, just a statement. I wish you were going to Dan's on Saturday for his birthday and Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, it's the one time a year we hang out! Haha
I’m going to miss that so much. My heart just sank in my chest.
Anonymous asked: 5 favorite things to do to pass the time?
In no particular order
1. watching shows on netflix
2. playing video games (Halo specifically)
3. reading
4. playing Pokemon TCG
5. playing/writing/programming music
Anonymous asked: Is Montana better than Michigan? What/who do you miss?
Montana itself (as a state) is not better than Michigan (in my opinion). The mountains here are rad, but so are the Great Lakes. I love our base and I love the people here. However, I love Michigan and I love the Plymouth Canton area especially. I miss everyone back home and all the conveniences of living in a suburb. It’s not cool to drive 30 minutes to get to a McDonalds. It’s tough to compare the two because they’re so different and we’re here for a really specific purpose.
Anonymous asked: Why did The Great Basement Crusade never release an actual album?
We we’re 14-16 years old and by the time we finished recording a real EP Tim and Rich had gone through puberty and couldn’t sing the parts any more. We were going to finish it a couple months ago and release it but my parents threw away the computer that we had recorded everything on.
Anonymous asked: Does your mom actually know Cate and Ty?
yes…
Anonymous asked: What does having a beard mean to you?
Beards are awesome. Every guy who can grow one should. But if I’m being totally honest I’m shallow and I like the compliments people give me on my beard.
Anonymous asked: How did you meet Maddy?
I met her in high school. She was the beautiful popular girl and I was the nerdy guy in girl jeans before it was cool to wear girl jeans. We went with a group to see 50 First Dates (thankfully Tim Paul was a popular guy and got me into this group) … anyway one thing led to another and I asked her out via AOL Instant Messenger. She was 14 I was 15.
Anonymous asked: List some of your best friends and what they mean to you personally.
haha the flood of pity questions begins.
Best Friends (again in no particular order)
Maddy- duh
My three brothers mean the world to me and they’re at the top of the list.
Richie Rich- we are opposites and rivals in many things but we rarely let the competition get between us.
RSG- proof that stalking can lead to true friendship. I love this guy so much.
Matt Suchan- He always sees the best in everyone and definitely keeps me grounded
Dan Hassett- the best guy for video games, man dates, serious conversations, and endless theology debates.
Wasim Bazzi- I don’t think he knows how much he means to me or how much I enjoy being with him. I’m so glad that God put him in my life even after I ignored his first 18 applications to join our band on myspace.
so many other people that I consider great/on the verge of best friend status.
Anonymous asked: What are three significant, life-changing events that have happened to you and what have they taught you?
Pity question hooray!
3 life changing events in no particular order.
A. Car accident a couple years ago.
This one sent a lot of things in my life into chaos. Physically it left me with a metal rod and a bunch of screws in my femur/hip area, but it also changed the course of a bunch of other things. It happened like 12 hours before GLV was suppose to leave on tour. The tour got canceled and the band kind of fell apart from there over the next few months. However, that also led to meeting Jen and Wasim and all of the awesome things that GLV has done since then. There is no way to minimize the massive impact that being a part of GLV had on my life (in a good way), and a lot of those things were triggered by this accident.
B. The Extreme Tour/My call to fulltime ministry.
This one is tough to sum up in a short paragraph but it’s a huge point in my life. Going on the Extreme Tour, deciding to go to school for Youth Ministry, and working with the middle school youth group at our church are three things that have altered my worldview completely.
C. Getting Married
It’s awesome. It’s been a great adventure so far and it’s only going to get more exciting in the next few months as we finish up our DTS with YWAM.
wish i was as popular as RSG.
Love these guys. So proud to have been a part of this band.
